Bangor Symphony Orchestra receives gifts from Quirk Subaru as part of their Share the Love Event

Bangor, ME – Friday, May 3 at 10 AM, the Bangor Symphony Orchestra will be at Quirk Subaru, 295 Hogan Road, Bangor, for a special presentation of donations to the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and Bangor Humane Society from Quirk Subaru and Subaru of America. The two organizations are honored to once more be the recipient organizations for Subaru’s “Share the Love” event with Quirk Subaru of Bangor, which gave an earmarked portion of all sales and leases of qualifying Subarus between November 16, 2023 and January 2, 2024 for support.

“The exceptional community commitment Quirk Subaru has made to furthering the mission of the BSO has been instrumental in providing powerful, enriching and diverse musical experiences through live concert performances and education programs of the highest quality,” says Renia Shterenberg, Executive Director of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra.

“Along with our loyal Customers, Quirk Subaru is honored to stand beside the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and their dedication to music, cultural enrichment and creativity to the Greater Bangor Region. We are proud to support their mission once again this year,” says Jill Quirk of Quirk Auto Group.

Last year’s partnership between Quirk Subaru and the two charitable organizations resulted in a combined $27,000 in support of their activities. This year, the partnership resulted in a combined total of $41,000.

“Quirk Subaru is a long-time friend of the shelter,” said Bangor Humane Society’s Director of Development & Communications, Kathryn Ravenscraft. “For many years, they have generously prioritized the care of homeless and unwanted pets in our community, providing valuable support during some very challenging times.”

“Quirk Subaru is proud of our commitment to caring for those in our community who are most vulnerable. It’s a special honor to help animals. They are completely reliant on us to care for them and keep them safe and we are happy to be in a position to help make that happen,” said Jim Quirk, Owner and General Manager of Quirk Subaru.

For the 2023-2024 season, support from Quirk Subaru and Subaru of America made it possible for the BSO to perform The Nutcracker with the Robinson Ballet and the Bangor Area Youth Choirs on stage at the Collins Center for the Arts on the UMaine campus. The board, staff, and musicians thank the Quirk family and employees as well as all the individuals who selected the BSO as their “hometown non-profit” when purchasing a Subaru from Quirk.

The public is welcome to attend the presentation at Quirk Subaru, where musicians of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra will be performing and the checks will be presented to the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and the Bangor Humane Society.
